Sunday, June 6, 2010. As I write this people are having breakfast, packing up their things or heading to their final lecture or class. NC Symposium 2010 is almost over. The final night of Symposium was the Iron Quilter event. It was crazy! The audience wore chef hats. The judges were Elin Waterston, David Taylor and Laura Wasilowski. Striving to use Every Last Piece. Heres the finished quilt, Fractured, from the previous post. The blocks are string pieced 5 finished squares. The liberated straight lines in the blocks were achieved by making straight line spirals over four blocks at a time. Ive made a few other quilts from Oakshott cottons. Finished size 51 x 51.
